The cleaning activity of the Corazón irrigation channel consisted mainly of removing soil and vegetation accumulated in the channel during the year, in order to allow the water to pass through this important irrigation channel for the recharge of aquifers and the shaping of the high mountain landscape (mainly the generation of pastures).
The participants, through the traditional maintenance of the irrigation ditches (using tools such as shovels and hoes), were able to understand the importance of the maintenance and use of these infrastructures by the irrigation community, a group of people who manage, maintain and make use of the historical irrigation systems.
