The MEMOLab UGR team held a working meeting with Castril Town Council with the aim of making progress on the preparation and launch of the municipality’s future Heritage Community. This meeting served to share the initiative’s objectives, coordinate actions and establish lines of collaboration between the various stakeholders involved.

The creation of a Heritage Community aims to encourage the active participation of citizens in the identification, appreciation and conservation of Castril’s cultural and natural heritage, promoting a management model based on collaboration between institutions, local associations and local residents.

During the meeting, issues relating to the planning of upcoming participatory activities, the involvement of various social stakeholders and the definition of strategies to strengthen the bond between the population and their heritage were discussed.
Castril Town Council expressed its interest and commitment to this initiative, which aims to become a forum for meeting and cooperation for all individuals and groups interested in the protection, promotion and enhancement of local heritage.

In the coming months, work will continue on organising activities, meetings and participatory processes that will contribute to the consolidation of the Castril Heritage Community and the collective development of a shared vision for the future of its heritage.
