MEMOLab–UGR took part in the Café con Faro meeting, organised by the Andalusian Institute of Historical Heritage (IAPH), in collaboration with the Spanish Ministry of Culture, within the framework of the SECreTour project, which focuses on fair, creative and sustainable tourism in rural and remote areas across Europe.
The event brought together community groups and professionals from different parts of Spain to exchange experiences and methodologies related to the Faro Convention, as well as to reflect on the future of the Faro Network in Spain. During the meeting, MEMOLab presented established heritage communities and others currently in the process of being developed, and contributed to the discussion during a panel dedicated to governance and citizen participation.
The meeting provided an opportunity to share lessons learned and discuss how to support heritage communities and strengthen their role in heritage management. It also marked a step towards laying the foundations for a nationwide network to connect and support heritage communities across Spain.
