The 20th edition of the event “Les Entretiens de Bibracte-Morvan” was held on 16th and 17th October 2026 on the topic of “Landscape Narratives”. This edition focused on “Landscape Narratives”, exploring how writers, artists, researchers and residents engage with landscape amid environmental and social upheaval, and how a landscape can become a commons. Some sixty people attended this edition, co-organised with partners of the Grand Site de France who each shaped part of the programme: alongside a lecture by landscape philosopher Jean-Marc Besse and a round table, the Maison du patrimoine oral de Bourgogne led a participative storytelling evening, the association Le Facteur rural and Chemins guided a mindful walk on Mont Beuvray, the GIEE Mont Beuvray held a producers’ market, and the bookshop La Promesse de l’Aube co-designed a literary café.
The Entretiens put into practice several tools from the SECreTOUR vademecum (WP1, D1.2), which identifies shared storytelling as a founding stage of the commoning process. A collective reading of the landscape on foot, the sharing of oral heritage archives and the work of writers and artists all helped move participation from consultation to the co-production of meaning, encouraging residents and visitors to see ordinary rural landscapes as a commons to care for together.
