SECreTOUR second consortium meeting was held from April 2nd to 5th, 2025 in Bibracte, Glux-en-Glenne, France. The meeting was opened by José María Martín Civantos (University of Granada) and Vincent Guichard (general director, BIBRACTE).
Each of the eight pilots, Bibracte: a landscape in common, Traditional irrigation systems in SE Spain, The heritage of the Vlach ethnolinguistic minority, Rural Roma heritage communities, Historic graves of Ireland & the Irish Diaspora, Mining cultural heritage & heritage communities, Digital nomadism in heritage-rich communities and San Giorgio: the Threshold of the Sacred Mountain presented a summary of their ongoing work. As did each of the partners involved in Work Packages 1-7.
The interactive Workshop for all pilots on the use of digital tools for sustainable tourism (D2.5) was led by Matevz Straus from Arctur. All the members of the pilots and the partners, divided into three working parties, took part in a lively session.
In addition there was a presentation of the Réseau des Grand Sites de France by Céline Tastet, International Action Officer and a round table discussion with the elected representatives, owner of a guesthouse and association CHEMINS, Parc naturel regional du Morvan in the Bibracte museum conference room. All the attendees were treated to a walking tour of part of the Bibracte site guided by Vincent Guichard and Vincent Balland whose insights into how understanding traditional woodland management can inform climate change responses were highly interesting.
Ample sustenance, showcasing local gastronomy was provided by Bibracte Le Chaudron Gallic restaurant, by some local organic farmers and at a newly opened restaurant in Glux-en-Glenne.
